Last month we saw the release of Tier seven troops in the Mech Dimension and with that release gameplay changed somewhat. While Tier seven is difficult to unlock, some of the recent events in-game have made it easier to do so and we have begun to see the power that these troops hold. There are some things you want to be aware of as you dive into this research and begin using these troops, so today I am going to spend some time talking to you about tier seven troops and what you can expect.

Tier Seven Troops Arrive in the Mech Dimension

When Tier Seven troops arrived in the Mech Dimension it brought about many questions, including whether or not they would be as difficult to unlock as tier six troops were and what kind of power they would bring to the game. We are all used to seeing higher tiers of troops emerge in gameplay, with the recent research unlocking them has taken a bit longer than early tiers did. We will spend some time today discussing how you can unlock tier seven troops in the Mech Dimension, Researching, Training, and Testing of Tier Seven Troops.

Unlocking Tier Seven Troops

There are currently two ways that Tier Seven Troops can be unlocked:

  1. Through fully researching the top part of the Tier 7 Normal Troops Research tree you can then access the research to unlock Tier 7 Troops.
  2. With the research for these troops, we saw the release of an Unlock Tier 7 Troops event. This allows you to complete hourly covert challenges for loyalty, RSS, Advanced Teleports, and Level 7 Combat Research Tokens. These tokens go towards the main challenge which gives tons of goodies including unlocks for Tier Seven Troops. We have already seen one of these events pass where we were able to unlock Artillery and choose a troop type to unlock. We are now on our second Unlock Level 7 Troops Challenge and upon completing it we will be able to unlock another troop type. This is the smartest way to unlock these troops and that is in part due to the fact that it will allow you to really focus on the research.

Covert Challenge Rotation

We want to make sure you are in the know about the Unlock Level 7 Troops event. Check out the event rotation for these covert challenges and make sure you are completing as many as possible.

Researching Tier Seven Troops

Researching Tier Seven is a little different, this research tree follows a normal progression in some ways, however, the top research does not have any prerequisites, this allows you to focus on the side and the stats you need. Level 7 Normal Research will require Normal Combat Research Chip 2. You can see from where I am on my tree I have been able to start out focusing just on Base Defender Stats which helps since I do not need the Control Point Stats for my account.

Tier Seven Research

If there is a third Unlock Level 7 Troops I will then be able to move into the bottom half of the research tree as unlocking all three troop types will open that part of the research tree. Because of this after I finish the Base Defender stats I will save my chips until I know whether or not I can avoid a ton of research that is not needed for my account type.

The Stats

When we talk about Tier 7 Research, we of course need to spend some time talking about the stats that come into play. Remember that the research for these troops is not tier-specific so it will strengthen your troops overall, not just your Tier 7 Troops. We will break down the stats available for this research by playstyle. Remember though that the research is split into two sections on this tree with the second section having the higher numbers.

Defender Specific Stats

These stats will apply only to our defenders when defending their base.

  • 93,800% Base Defender Attack
  • 115,000% Base Defender Defense
  • 62,500% Base Defender Health
Attacker Specific Stats

These stats will apply only to our attackers when attacking other players’ bases.

  • 93,800% Base Assault Attack
  • 115,000% Base Assault Defense
  • 62,500% Base Assault Health
Debuffs

These stats apply when it comes to debuffing your opponent’s Troop Attack, Troop Defense, and Troop Health.

  • 72,500% Armor Piercing
  • 57,500% Combat Shielding
  • 43,800% Accuracy
Control Point Specific Stats

These stats will only apply in Control Point Specific Situations.

  • 60,000% Control Point Rally Troop Attack (only applies when Attacking the Control Point in a Rally)
  • 53,333% Control Point Troop Health
  • 60,000% Control Point Defender Troop Attack (only applies when defending the Control Point)
Deployment Size Boosts

These boosts will enhance your Solo Deployment and Rally size.

  • 1,200,000 Rally Capacity
  • 400,000 Deployment Size

**Remember that if you choose not to do the Unlock Level 7 Troops event you can also unlock Tier 7 Troops through completing the research, however, this is a more expensive path.

Training Tier Seven Troops

Tier Seven

Now that we have discussed unlocking and researching Tier 7 Troops we of course must discuss training them. What you need to know about training Tier 7 troops is that it takes a ton of RSS and speeds. You will want to train and use these troops wisely. For my attackers, I recommend that if you find yourself limited in your ability to train these troops and you can take on your opponent with Tier 6 troops that you continue to do so.

While I have seen some defenders switch to a one-type tier 7 troop setup which has been effective, use this setup with caution. These troops are expensive to train and if you are zeroed it will make rebuilding difficult.

While we will hopefully see boosts to help with both RSS and Speeds cost for Tier 7 troops for now recognize that the ability to use these troops may be limited by the cost. When you are training these troops, be sure to skill your Commander, Skill your Original Mech, and complete all researches that help with costs for training. You will want to be on point with your training reductions before you hit that train button. You will also want to take advantage of Training challenges in order to get some return on your resources and speeds. Remember that the Covert Challenges have the training challenge and give RSS and speeds. Continue completing these even if you have unlocked the troops!

Finally, learn to farm! Farm tiles, farm accounts, and use every advantage you can in order to be able to boost the RSS you have coming into your Base. This will help offset the cost and keep you training more.

Testing Tier Seven Troops

While we have been able to do some defensive testing with these troops there is still a lot of testing we want to do. For these initial tests, we took a look at the difference when our attacker hit with Tier 7 troops versus Tier 6 Troops.

Tier 7 Troop Testing Tier 6 Hit Tier 7 Hit
Overall Loss 3.56M 6.09M
Defender Hospitalized 2.82M 4.39M
Troop Loss 706,085 1.64M
Poisoned 706,085 1.1M
Mech HP Loss 31,023 58,961
Attacker Loss 15.3M 10.8M
Mech HP Loss 2.18M 2.03M

There are a couple of things you can see from our testing:

  1. Our Attacker was able to kill almost double the troops when using Tier 7 Troops against our defender and more off of our defenders Mech.
  2. Our Defender was able to kill a significantly lower number of troops off of our attackers when defending against a tier 7 hit.

What we know from this information is that when defending against Tier 7 troops with lower-tier troops our defenders will need to increase their troop count and stats to help with the attack. Defenders will also need an increase in Health and Defense stats to guard against the extra troops being killed off. As we are able to test more and more we will be bringing you more information!
