We have discussed basic information regarding how to build your stats in the Mech War Dimension as every type of player and what stats you want to focus on. We have looked more in-depth at traps and fillers however, it is now time to move on to the Lead. These are players who simply want to smash everything.
Why Should I Read the Trap Articles?
You are probably wondering why I am recommending you go back and read the articles that are focused on Trapping. As a lead why should you have to worry about how Traps build their stats? Well, I do have an answer for you. Talk to seasoned Leads and they will tell you that some of the best Leads were at one point traps. Knowing how Traps build stats and different things that are helping Traps will help with picking targets. As a lead, you need to be conscientious of Trap setups as well. We will provide you with links to our trapping articles at the end of this article.
A Quick Recap
So far we have looked at different definitions of stats and Traps and Fillers. We have explored what stats are important for these players including Attack, Health, and Defense. There are some Attack stats that are specifically for Traps and some that are specifically for leads. In this article, we will focus more on stats that are available for leads and where to find those.
However, before we dive in be sure to refresh your memory on the stats and their definitions by checking out our Combat Stats Dictionary.
Stat Focus
For Leads, we talked about the Stats that would need to be focused on in the first article in our series. This included:
- Attack
- Health
- Debuffs
- Base Assault Attack
- Base Assault Defense
- Base Assault Health
- Rally Attack
- Type Stats
- Deployment Size
All of these stats will play a role in your ability to effectively lead and you want to be able to max these stats as much as possible. For this article, we will talk about Attack, Deployment Size, Defense Debuff and other stats for leads. We will also discuss how to prioritize these stats when you are building your account.
Prioritizing the stats
With so many stats to focus on as an attacker, how do you prioritize these? There is always the max everything route, however, not everyone has the ability to take this route. We have a list of stats to prioritize and which to prioritize within that category and why. However, depending on your victim… Ummm, opponent… how you prioritize these stats can change. This is why it is important to test as an attacker and know how to prioritize in different situations. The list we will give you today is a general list to get started.
First Priority: Attack
When we look at Attack we have a few attack stats for Attackers:
- Base Assault Attack
- Type Attack
- Rally Attack
- Troop Attack
- Deployment Size
So where do you start when you are looking at Attack Stats? A solid starting point for attackers is Base Assault Attack. This is the stat you are going to get from attacking gear and tons of research and is specific to attackers who are attacking other player’s Bases. This Stat really helps to empower troops as a whole. Type Attack stats will help strengthen the attack of your different types of troops and as we have seen when sending a Deployment the attack will be stronger when you send a type-specific attack with your troops.
Rally Attack will be important when you are sending rallies versus solos. Finally, we have Troop Attack and Attack with Commander. While these stats are important as well and ultimately will help make you stronger they are going to be your last priority until they are significantly above the level of Debuff. Remember defenders are going to be building their debuffs as well which will be working against your Troop Attack which is why we rank this lower.
We have not talked about Deployment size yet! Why did we put Deployment size under attack? Adding more troops gives more attack. So for this, we are going to consider Deployment as an attack stat. However, here is what you need to be aware of as you debate a larger attack size or more stats. There are players with smaller Deployments who hit harder because they have more stats. Stats should always be prioritized over Deployment size, however, a larger Deployment size when you have solid stats will also be a huge benefit.
Second Priority: Health
Next up let’s look at health. The health stats we are going to look at include:
- Base Assault Health
- Type Health
- Troop Health
Within our health category, we are once again going to look at building Base Assault and Type Health first. Health is going to allow your troops to survive longer and be harder to kill. Base Assault Defense will help with that as well. However, health has proved itself to be more effective than defense when testing the two stats.
Third Priority: Debuffs
There are a few schools of thought when it comes to Debuffs. Some Attackers prefer to pair their Debuff stats with their “families” as in, as they are increasing their attack they are going to increase their attack debuff. Some attackers prefer to prioritize Defense and Health Debuffs over anything else. However, let’s look at this from a different perspective. Here are our Debuffs:
- Health Debuff aka Accuracy
- Defense Debuff aka Armor Piercing
- Attack Debuff- Combat Shielding
For defenders, many are completely debuffed and because of this, they have started focusing on Base Defender and Type Stats. However, ensuring they are debuffed is important so you do not give them an extra edge. So let’s look at how these debuffs will help you and that will help as you are prioritizing.
- Health Debuff is going to reduce your opponent’s Health stats. As we discussed Health is hugely effective in helping protect your troops and a lot of traps rely on this stat to help them be stronger. Debuffing Health is going to prevent them from using that Health to protect their troops.
- Defense Debuff- Defense is also going to help your opponent protect their troops. So debuffing their defense will allow you to kill more of their troops.
- Attack Debuff- Attack Debuff is going to allow you to debuff their attack. Their attack is helping them kill your troops so this adds an extra layer of protection to your troops.
Always Test!!!!!
Always, Always Test. We hear a lot about Traps testing their setups but it is just as important for Leads to test their setups as well. Test different scenarios and different set-ups so that when you encounter them in a battle situation you know how to address them. Just because your Commander 1 may hit harder in certain situations does not mean that Commander 2 will not hit harder in other situations.
The best way to test as a Lead Player is to find a trusty Trap player and ask them to run some tests with you. Traps are always willing to be hit (believe me I know) and you may end up running a few more tests than you planned on when they decide they want to test a few of their different setups as well. Believe me, it could easily turn into a whole if you give a mouse a cookie scenario.
How to Test Tutorial
- Determine what you want to test and find someone you trust to test with
- Give Clear instructions to your testing partner of what you need
- Run your first Test
- Have your Victim (test subject) reset so that the testing conditions remain the same between hits. (This is where those hospital traps are great as many of them will just have to quickly heal troops.)
- Change your stats for the next test you want to run
- Compare Reports
- Repeat as necessary
Do Not Be Afraid to Switch it up
One of the great things about Mobile Strike is that it is constantly changing. You will constantly encounter new scenarios and be able to burn new things that you were not able to burn yesterday. Due to this changing environment, it is necessary to be able to switch things up if needed.
Make sure that you remain fluid and are willing to make changes (even mid-zero) if and when they are needed. The ability to switch things up and push the limits is what makes great Leads, great. You may get capped a few times along the way but hopefully, you get capped by friendly traps (like me) who release when asked kindly and have some fun in the process.
Hopefully, this has helped to address questions you have surrounding how to build your stats as a Mech War Dimension Player.
