Debuffs are boosts that directly counter one of your opponent’s boosts. They each serve a purpose and shouldn’t be neglected as they are an integral part of a well-balanced playstyle. Debuffs decrease the performance or stats in any combat situation. In this article, we will delve deeper into the role each Debuff has and how it is applied.
Where do you find Debuffs?
Before I help you find a place to add boost, we must first establish a baseline. So tap on your Power, then on your Boost tab – scroll down to ‘Overall Troop Boosts’ here you will find Armor Piercing and the Radar Station Debuff. Below that you will find the type-specific Debuffs.
Combat Shielding and Enemy Deployment Obstruction are found under the ‘Overall Enemy Troop Debuffs’ tab. Your Accuracy boost is found under the very last tab, also called ‘Overall Troop Boosts’ (why are there two of these?)
If you are looking for the Control Point-specific Debuffs you will find them under this same tab.
Within your Research Facility, you see a tab labeled ‘Debuff’. Inside are 3 research trees dedicated to Debuffs. Do your best to complete these trees for maximum Debuff benefit.
As mentioned above, having a starting point lets you know where you stand which makes it much easier to monitor your progress.

Combat Shielding is an Attack debuff meaning it cancels out a given percentage of your opponent’s overall Troop Attack. If you remember back to my Premiere Defense Guide last month. I explained how Attack is king and your number 1 priority. Look at Combat Shielding as an extension of your Troop Attack Bonus. Compare it to your Troop Attack. For Example, If you have a 3 m in troop Attack Bonus and you have 3.3m in Combat Shielding, this means your opponent will need to have a combination greater than 6.3m to overpower you.
Accuracy is a Health Debuff meaning it negates a given percentage of your opponent’s overall Troop Health. Accuracy is a veteran in Debuffs and a very important current game stat. Just like we demonstrated above Accuracy can be viewed as an extension of your Troop Health. By keeping track of your own stats, you will be able to gauge your opponent’s strength.
Armor-piercing is a Defense Debuff that removes a given percentage of your opponent’s overall Troop Defense. This is a good stat for attackers because the defender likely has troop volume on their side thus weakening the defense boost may be just enough to sway the outcome in your favor.
Mech Armour Break
Mech Armor Break boosts are a 1- hour boost. At the time of their release, they were a requirement to successfully defend yourself as well as a lethal boost to your attack.
If you look at your Mech boost you’ll see a permanent 10K Mech Armour Break that became active at Hq 80. And for a brief period, you could purchase these tokens from packs that offered an additional 5000% and 7500%. If you are lucky enough to have any of these hanging around, don’t waste them. These only grow more powerful as your mechs increase in strength. This is because they stack yielding powerful boosts.
To understand Synergy Disruption you first need to understand the role of Mech Synergy. It’s hard to quantify this to an exact science, however, Mobile Strike claims up to 5 x the strength of your troops when using a Mech Synergy. The synergy boost is attached to a specific mech which offers a boost to an assigned troop type.
- Inferno with Infantry troops
- Hydro with Tactical troops
- Terra with Armoured Vehicles
- Chaos with Artillery
In your Com 4 skill tree, you will find Synergy Disruption. This is the only Synergy Debuff available right now. Unfortunately due to the lack of Commander 4 Skill points available for your tree, we are not able to see the maximum benefit of this debuff. Preliminary testing shows promise and I can’t wait to see more of this boost in greater numbers.
Infantry, Tactical, Armor Vehicle and Artillery Debuffs
There are Troop Type-specific Debuffs available. These are in limited quantities when compared to the Overall Troop Debuffs. But they are incredibly important. These can be found in your research as well as your Commander 4 Skill tree. In the case of Artillery, the New Aggression Mod set offers an Artillery-specific Debuff. It’s a very small boost for now and only slightly Debuffs defense.
Cp Accuracy is identical to Accuracy in that it is a Health Dubuff, however, the Cp Accuracy stat only applies in the Control Point. For players who aren’t interested in competing for the Control Point, this stat can be ignored. But for those of you who do, the fact that it’s offered in such a limited number makes it more powerful. This is because in the Control Point setting troop numbers are limited and often within 1 m of each other. Every little bit helps and this could be the stat to give you the edge over your opponent.
Control Point Deployment Sabotage
Deployment Sabotage in general simply slows down the speed at which your opponent’s march comes towards the Control Point.
Let’s use an example of attending the Nexus event. This is a timed event where the player who accumulates the most time spent occupying the Control Point is the winner. These battles are hectic, so by slowing down all the deployments coming at you while occupying you will give yourself and your team more time to coordinate defending the Control Point. When seconds matter, managing your time to target as well as your opponents will give you the upper hand.
Rally Deployment Sabotage
Like all deployment sabotage boosts, this slows down the march speed of your opponent. This time specifically for incoming rallies. This is an excellent stat to try and boost for players who are welcoming attacks as it will buy them more time to organize their boosts and counters, apply synergy, add bullets, activate serums, and accept reinforcements.
Headquarters Deployment Sabotage
This stat will slow the march of rallies as well as solos coming at you. Whenever it is possible to increase this or any deployment sabotage you need to do so. Attacks happen quickly and every second you can free up will give you an advantage.
Please see my Premier Defense Guide here:
As of late, we have seen Mod sets which include Debuffs. The most recent example is the Defensive Brawler Mod set featuring Combat Shielding.
If you are looking for more Debuff then check out the Red Eye Augment set. These offer a fair amount of boost, however, depending on your play style they may or may not be the best fit for you. Always use the best combination for your task ahead.
Why it’s important to counter them
Can you Debuff a Debuff? Essentially yes you can. Because you know your boosts you have the ability to hypothesize your opponent’s boosts levels. Place your focus in the areas of Troop Attack, Defense, and Health to have it work in your favor.
Buildings with debuffs
Master Supply Depot
In the Master Supply Depot, you have Accuracy and Amor Piercing available to you. Be sure to level this building as high as possible to maximize the benefit and stay on top of your game.
The Radar Station Debuff provides additional Combat Shielding for your base. Under your boosts tab, you will see Radar Station Debuff, however, it does not indicate a specific Debuff. But if you refer to your Research Facility, Combat tab, and Bastion Defense Research you will see the initial release of this boost noted as Radar Station Combat Shielding which decreases the Troop Attack of incoming enemy deployments to your base.
The Development Centre is my favorite building. It provides a lot of additional options for your boost. Upon entering the Development Centre you encounter a whole host of options. Scroll down to the Debuff tab, after that you can choose among:
- Attack Debuff – Combat Shielding
- Health Debuff – Accuracy
- Defense Debuff – Armor Piercing
- Control Point Rally – Control Point Combat Shielding
- Control Point Defending – Control Point Combat Shielding
- Control Point Health – Control Point Accuracy
The Control Point-specific Debuffs are exactly that. These boosts only apply to combat in the Control Point. They will not apply in any other combat situation.
It is wise to check this building often as many challenge rewards include Boost Development Components. Don’t give your enemy an advantage by missing any potential boost.
The Arsenal has a plethora of options at your disposal. The basic Combat Shielding with the Sky-Burst Spiral, Accuracy with the Torrest-Burst Spiral, and Armor Piercing is Earth-Burst Spiral.
Overpiercer Bullets offer Armoured Vehicle Attack, Defense, and Health Debuff. The Drilltrip Shot is Tactical Attack, Defense, and Health Debuff. Acid Tip is Infantry Attack, Defense, and Health Debuff.
In the Monument, you will find several Insignia options available which include Debuffs. Be sure to wear the highest-rated Insignia for your mission ahead.
The Biotech lab is where you manufacture your Serums. It is a brilliant idea to include Debuffs in your serums and have them ready to go in your Biotech Inventory.
Taking the time to educate yourself on what you can implement to your advantage at any given time is a certified recipe for success. So get in the kitchen and start cooking.
When looking at Assault Vehicles, some offer Debuffs. A Lvl 60 Predator for example offers 234,900% Armor Piercing and 128k% Accuracy which makes this an effective vehicle to use in an attack scenario.
Check out what you have available to you in your Assault Vehicle Hangar. Remember, if you fail to prepare you prepare to fail.
Debuffs have long been misunderstood by many players. Do your best to maximize all the Debuffs available to you. Whether you are an Attacker, Defender, or Control Point specialist, Debuffs will put you at the top of your game.
Now that we have taken this journey together through the land of Debuffs. We can all come out the other side with a better understanding of their place in the Mobile Strike war zone.
