In Mobile Strike, one of the most feared things is being zeroed. We could go into the history of this and some epic one-hit zeroes but we won’t today. When you get Zeroed you run into a few options on how to respond. And while we spend a lot of time talking about how to protect ourselves and how to trap, the reality is all of us at some point take some big losses.
Recovering from that loss can be difficult and can sometimes feel downright overwhelming. This is why today we will provide some tips on how to rebuild and handle that moment when you are left with no troops and possibly, no Commander.
Seven Steps to Surviving Being Zeroed
You have been zeroed! You have a few choices at this point on how to respond. We know that you are running around looking a little like this…

Note: This video is from a Game of War Facebook Page, however, it still applies here!
However, before you fly off the deep end like our friend there… we have help for you! Being Zeroed is not the end of the world or even the end of your game.
Step One: Take a Deep Breath
We get it, being zeroed sucks! However, the first thing you need to do before you fly off the handle or make any rash decisions is breathe! At about this point it is likely you are very angry or very upset. Whether that anger is directed at the game, the person who zeroed you, or yourself, you need to be able to deal with that.
So everyone with me… Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. Repeat this process until the only red you are seeing are the leftover flames in your base. If the sight of the fire is not helping maybe get someone to one troop you and make the fire go away.
Step Two: Assess the Situation
What are your damages? Is your Commander gone? What kind of resources do you have saved up to rebuild? These are all things you will need to know before you can decide your route to recover. If you are in an alliance that is able to help with resources and other items that will make it a lot easier.
Another thing you will want to look at is who your attacker was and where you can strengthen your stats and build so they are not able to do the same damage to you again. Use this as a chance to remold your overall strategy so your weaknesses can’t be exploited again.
Step Three: Make a Decision
At this point with all factors in mind, you have a decision to make. You can choose to quit or you can choose to rebuild and learn and grow as a player. However, let’s take a closer look at these decisions and what they entail.
Decision: I am going to quit.
Before you do this I want you to go back to Step Number One. Take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth. What you want to be sure of is that this is not a rage quit. We have all seen these players, anytime they do not get their way or things go wrong they quit. We know that they will be back and playing the next day but their immediate response is to quit because they are upset.
Decision: I am going to rebuild.
In some ways when you are zeroed it is easy to quit. It is easy to say, well, I have nothing left so I am just going to quit. However, remember that the game is more than that, it is a community. If you decide to stick around, you have the opportunity to keep growing and learning within that community. In addition, here is what really motivates me, anytime someone gets the best of me, I fix it and then I go find them and cap them. Some of the best and strongest players you meet are players who have been zeroed and then chose to rebuild. However, it is necessary to be aware that depending on what you have saved up in your account there may be a cost associated with rebuilding.
Step Four: You Need your Commander
You are rebuilding! YAY! I hoped you would make that decision. However, you have been zeroed and you are going to need your Commander back. Hopefully, at this point, you are ready and able to email your attacker. When constructing this email you may find yourself needing to refer back to Step Number One a few times, no worries, take as many deep breaths as you need (just do me a favor and do not hyperventilate).
In the Mech Dimension if you are above Headquarters 20 it may be difficult to get your Commander back as the player will likely want to use it for altar boost. However, there is no harm in asking. We have a few steps here on how to ask for your Commander. One thing I will tell you is that as a trap if I cap your Commander and you do not ask for it back, I am going to assume you do not want it back. So always ask!
Steps to Asking for your Commander Back
- Stay calm.
- Know that it was likely not personal (I mean sometimes it can be)
I have seen emails from people saying things like, I cannot believe you would attack this person. This just happened in their life. Well, first of all, War Game, and second of all, I have no way of knowing this. The only reason I targetted you is that you were there and you looked like a viable option. - When emailing if you make me laugh and are nice I am more likely to release.
- When emailing if you are a troll and hateful, well… you are not getting your Commander back from me anytime soon.
- Wait to see the results.
Example of a Bad Email:
I hope you know that you are a horrible person. Just so you know because of you I have to quit the game because I cannot afford to build new troops. You must not have anything better to do, you’re nothing more than a bully.
Result: Your email gets laughed at in Line Chat but nothing happens.
Example of a Good Email: Be Kind and feel free to be a little silly
So it would seem that my Commander felt the need to run away from home with you. We’ve been having problems… but she seems to have forgotten her sweater. Do you mind sending her home so that she can stay warm?
Result: Hopefully you elicit a laugh from your attacker and get your Commander back.
What to do if the Email does not work:
- See if anyone in your Alliance has one of their Commanders and would be willing to do a trade.
- Pop a Pill because at this point it may be your best bet.
- Wait it out.
Step Five: Protect Your Account
Hopefully, at this point, you have your Commander back. Now, you need to protect your account so that you can hang onto your Commander and begin the rebuilding process. This can look different depending on a few factors. If you do not have the resources to begin rebuilding then you will want to protect your Commander and what troops you currently have.
There are a couple of ways that you are able to protect yourself:
- Shield.
- If you are unable to obtain a shield, then ghost rally your Mech and any troops you may have.
- If unable to shield or do a quick rebuild, then only train enough troops to fill your hospital capacity.
Step Six: Begin the Rebuild
Your Commander is home and your account is protected! Time to get working on that rebuild.
Step One: Improve your Stats
There are many things you will need to look at when rebuilding. Including where you can improve your stats. Depending on what dimension you are primarily in this can look different. However, one of the best places to increase your stats in either dimension is your research. So take a look at the Research Facility and see what you can complete. In addition, check gear, mods, and insignia, and the development center. Before you even begin building troops you need to see how you can build your stats.
Step Two: Build An Army
Now that you have increased your stats it is time to start building your troop count back up. If you were limited in where you could increase your stats you may need more troops this time around. However, be sure before you start your training that you have the time and the resources to train what you need. If you are unable to shield you do not want to leave the job half done as this will put you at risk for having to start over at step one again.
Step Seven: Give it a Test
You have rebuilt, now find a friend and test your account. You want to be sure that you do not log out unshielded and automatically end up where you were before. Testing your build is very important if you are planning on sitting around with no shield. However, note that the safest bet is always to keep your account shielded when you are not able to be online.
Getting Zeroed is something that happens. While it is not fun it is possible to survive and rebuild to be an even stronger player.
