Time to get serious boys and girls. I know that sounds scary but there are inherent realities that we need to deal with as Gamers and it’s best to discuss them and ways that you can remain safe versus ignoring these realities.
As the world becomes more and more digital and we exist in tiny communities within a digital world the need to address safety becomes important. While many of us who were brought up in an age of technology and innovation may think that some of this advice is “common sense”, we still hear stories of people falling victim to scammers and predators. Today we are going to talk about everything from Account safety to personal safety because both are very real needs within the community.
Tips to Safeguarding your Mobile Strike Account
Whether you invest time or money into your Mobile Strike Account any long time player knows that playing the game is just that, an investment of time, money, or both. However, at the end of the day, we do it because we enjoy the game and the community. Keeping your account safe ensures that you can continue to enjoy the community and the game. We are going to present some scenarios and tips on how to navigate them to help you when it comes to ensuring your account remains safe.
Mobile Strike HQ Tip Number One: Do not share your logs with anyone
To ensure that your account is safe the wisest choice is to not share your logs with anyone. It even states in Mobile Strike TOS that it is against terms to share your logs. However, let’s get real, most players will at one time or another choose to share their logs. Whether it is to get help with an account or have a “driver” or a log buddy in case you miss your shield and are being zeroed.
This is a reality of modern gaming that our accounts can be zeroed and that we want to protect the time and money we have invested. So if you do decide to take the risk of sharing your logs make sure that you stay as safe as possible:
- Be sure to only share logs with people you trust implicitly. If you do not know them well or there is anything that gives you the impression that they are less than trustworthy do not share your logs.
- Ensure that the email you have your account hooked to uses a different password than your game account. When all else fails you can regain access to your account through your email, however, you must be able to access that email!
- At the first sign of trouble be sure to toss on a pin and change your password.
We know that we are recommending an abundance of caution, however, in the time I have spent playing Mobile Games I have heard multiple horror stories of players having disagreements with log buddies and waking up to zeroed accounts or accounts they have lost all access to. It is better to take the necessary precautions than become just another horror story.
Mobile Strike HQ Tip Number Two: Do Not use Loaders!!!
All loaders are not created equal and not all are above board. We hear of these amazingly low prices for packs and we want in on the deal. However, at the end of the day, there are multiple scenarios that this can result in.
- You fall into the hands of a scammer loader and they steal your account
- You fall into the hands of a scammer loader and they refund and your account is then banned due to excessive refunding.
- You fall into the hands of a scammer loader.
Are there legit loaders out there? Yes? However, why take the risk of having all the money you pour into the game be worth nothing because of a loader that offered a deal that was “too good to be true.” (Secret: If it seems too good to be true it probably is).
However, all of us like a discount! So our recommendation is to take the opportunity to use Amazon Coins, not only is this a legit way to save money and not violate TOS but you also do not need to share your logs with a potentially shifty loader. Remember that these guys do not care about you or your account!!
Tips to Safeguarding yourself and your family in the Mobile Strike Community
We say Mobile Strike Community because that is what it is. We are a community and often the people we play the game with becoming not only friends but family. However, not everyone within the community is above board. There are horror stories of abuse and more. I do not like to reflect on this side of the community because it is one we do not want to remember exists. However, it does, just like in any community there are unfortunately those who will try to prey on other members of the community.
Mobile Strike HQ Tip Number One: Do Not Share Personal Information
This includes real name, phone number, address, credit card numbers, children’s names, etc. I know this may seem like a “no brainer” however, it does happen. For those of you who are not familiar with the word “Dox” let’s talk a little bit. This is when someone takes your private information and spams it all over social media. Random people now know what would be considered private information and can then mess with you and your family. This is unfortunate and we wish people were not like this but it does happen so be sure to safeguard yourself!
Mobile Strike HQ Tip Number Two: Be Cautious with who you trust
We develop real-life friendships and relationships with people we meet in this community. Some of these people know more about our struggles than people that have met us. However, with the internet there comes a sense of anonymity. The person you meet in the Line room or the game may be completely different in their everyday lives. You can project yourself to be someone you are not when you do not face to face with people.
We have seen great friendships develop, people will get married, people have kids, and more after meeting in the gaming community. However, I encourage you to exercise an abundance of caution anytime you allow someone from the gaming community into your bubble. If you are meeting someone in real life then be sure that people will know where you will be and meet in a public space. Also, take along another person if you can.
I have had the privilege to meet some of the people I have gamed with for years in person. Some of those experiences were good and some were not horror stories but I am glad I met in a safe space.
Mobile Strike HQ Tip Number Three: Know about the seedy underside of the Gaming Community
There is such a thing as being too naive. There are certain things that you should know about even if you are not a part of it. For example, you should know that there are scammers and Doxers and more. You should also know that there are people in-game that will try to take things to a sexual level. They will ask for nudes or offer nudes. Some of these people will do these things in exchange for packs. We want to act like it does not happen but once again it does.
When I first started gaming I was told that “my Hero would be released if I sent another player nudes on Line.”
I did not get my Hero back that day but I did spend some time calling out this player in chats. The seedy underside of the game exists and knowing about it helps us know how to safeguard ourselves. I would encourage all of you to never send nude photos of yourself to people you meet in-game or in Social Media. However, if you choose to do so at the very least be sure that your face is not in the photos.
Continuing Forward
I hope that as the gaming industry continues to grow and progress we can keep ourselves and our information safe. I also hope that as we call more awareness of these issues as a community we can deal with them better and let others know what is okay and what is not. However, ultimately it is up to you to protect yourself. We want to spend some time talking to the ladies about safety as well so be on the lookout for the continuance of Safety in a Gaming World where we talk about being a woman in Gaming.
